EXPLORATIONS ON SUFFERING, FREEDOM AND LIVING AN ABUNDANT LIFE

EXPLORATIONS ON SUFFERING, FREEDOM

AND LIVING AN ABUNDANT LIFE

“My daily bread is powerlessness…

I am falling, falling

Plunging into non existence

Is this annihilation?

Or is it the path to silent love that

We are

As the false self disappears

The true self is born

Thus the dance of human nature with

That which is

Takes on a wholly new perspective.”

(T. Keating, excerpted from ‘The last laugh’,

The Secret Embrace)

CATHERINE OF SIENA

CATHERINE OF SIENA

Catherine’s spirituality focuses on the interior

work of self knowledge, truth, surrender,

compassion, action and extends to service, the

Church and the world.

She believes that contemplation is not just private

but moves from ‘the cell of self knowledge’

into love of neighbour, truth telling and service.

She worked for reform, cared for the sick

and spoke boldly.
